Authorities in Altamonte Springs, Florida, successfully intervened to prevent a potentially deadly attack at Lake Brantley High School after an anonymous tip uncovered a detailed plot by two female students to stab a classmate. The alleged plan, which investigators described as chilling, was reportedly tied to the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooter, Adam Lanza.

The incident began to unfold on January 22, when an anonymous alert was submitted through Florida’s FortifyFL system. This platform, designed to allow students and community members to report potential threats, warned that a student intended to carry out a violent attack the following day. Law enforcement officials initiated an immediate investigation, working in close coordination with school administrators to address the imminent threat.
On the morning of January 23, at approximately 7:38 a.m., officers removed 15-year-old Isabelle Valdez from her class for questioning by school administrators. Court documents indicate that Valdez identifies as "trans" and uses the name "Jimmy." During questioning with an assistant principal, Valdez allegedly admitted to planning to harm another student and stated she had brought materials to school to execute the attack.
Investigators reported that Valdez surrendered a backpack containing several items intended for the assault: a knife, gloves, trash bags, and cleaning wipes. Officials later confirmed that the knife measured approximately 10 to 12 inches in length. Valdez reportedly informed authorities that her intended victim reminded her of Adam Lanza, the perpetrator of the 2012 Sandy Hook massacre in Newtown, Connecticut. Court records further indicate that Valdez believed killing the student would forge a "blood bond" with Lanza, which she somehow thought would bring him back to life.
The alleged plan, as detailed by police, involved confronting the victim in an upstairs bathroom at the school and stabbing him in either the stomach or throat. Investigators also revealed that Valdez had been meticulously monitoring the student's movements for months prior to the planned attack. This surveillance included photographing him, tracking his location on campus, and memorizing his class schedule. Court documents additionally noted that Valdez sometimes claimed to hear voices instructing her to harm others.
Further investigation implicated Valdez's friend, 14-year-old Lois Lippert. Police stated that Lippert was aware of the plot and actively assisted Valdez in gathering materials for the attempted attack, including helping to sharpen the knife.
Authorities uncovered additional details that painted a deeply troubling picture of the premeditated nature of the alleged crime. Valdez reportedly wrote a letter to her parents, apologizing for her intended actions, which she planned to deliver after the attack.
